Operations Control Centre Expansion Works
Degnan delivered the Operations Control Centre expansion to support Sydney Metro’s extension into the City & Southwest, providing the space and infrastructure required to manage the extended network.
Expanding the Operations Control Centre
The existing Operations Control Centre (OCC) at Tallawong provides centralised control and monitoring of Sydney Metro operations. Degnan delivered the expansion of the facility to accommodate the additional controllers required for the extended network.
Multidisciplinary Delivery
Degnan’s scope included electrical, mechanical, fire, hydraulic and fit-out works across the OCC, together with interface works to the existing data rooms. The project also included an external mechanical enclosure and transformer generator unit.
Working Within an Operational Environment
Delivering the expansion required new works to interface with existing operational infrastructure. Degnan drew on its experience working within live rail environments to carefully coordinate the new works with the existing facility.
Integrated and Maintainable Solutions
Degnan sourced solutions that supported the project’s sustainability and maintainability objectives, with materials and products selected to integrate cohesively with the existing OCC buildings.
Supporting an Expanded Metro Network
The completed fit-out provided the additional operational space required as Sydney Metro extended into the City & Southwest, supporting the OCC’s role in the centralised monitoring and control of the metro network.
