Degnan is supporting Fulton Hogan to deliver Merrimac Station as part of the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority’s New Gold Coast Stations Program.As a specialist rail infrastructure contractor, Degnan is delivering the station's high-quality fit-out and finishing works, supporting the transformation of Merrimac Station into a modern, accessible transport facility for the Gold Coast community. Through strong collaboration, careful planning and coordinated delivery, the project team is progressing works across both station buildings to support successful project outcomes.
Project Overview
Merrimac Station forms part of the New Gold Coast Stations Program, which is delivering new and upgraded stations to support the region’s growing transport needs.
Degnan’s scope includes fit-out and finishing works across the outbound and inbound station buildings, including the coordination of architectural finishes, services and internal construction activities through to completion.
Collaborative Delivery
Degnan worked alongside Fulton Hogan during the early stages of the project. Drawing on our proven experience delivering new rail stations, Degnan provided insights that supported design development, construction planning and key delivery decisions.
Early collaboration enabled the project team to identify opportunities, improve constructability and support efficient delivery. Degnan continues to work alongside Fulton Hogan and key project stakeholders, applying specialist rail capability to deliver the station fit-out and finishing works.
Quality, Innovation and Sustainability
The project team is applying coordinated delivery practices, including early design reviews, federated modelling and detailed construction planning, to improve constructability and support efficient installation sequencing.
By identifying opportunities early and coordinating works across disciplines, the team is helping reduce rework, minimise material waste and support a more efficient delivery approach.
