Loganlea Station Relocation

The Queensland Government awarded the Martinus Degnan Joint Venture the contract to deliver the Loganlea Station Relocation project, a significant transport infrastructure upgrade that will enhance accessibility, safety and connectivity for the growing Logan community.

Located closer to key destinations, including Logan Hospital, Loganlea TAFE and Loganlea State High School, the new station will provide improved access to public transport, while supporting future growth in the region.

Construction commenced in January 2025 and is scheduled for completion in 2027.

Major Milestone Achieved
In July 2026, the project reached a significant milestone. With the old rail tracks decommissioned and trains running on brand new track, services are now safely travelling through the construction zone while work progresses on the new Loganlea station.
This milestone involved decommissioning the former track, commissioning the new rail infrastructure and successfully returning the works with passenger services running on schedule. The achievement reflects the close collaboration between the Martinus Degnan Joint Venture, Queensland Rail and the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
Customers travelling by train through Loganlea will now get an up close look at the new Loganlea station.
Key Features
The relocated station has been designed to deliver a safer, more accessible and customer-focused experience, including:
  • improved access to the station with ramps, stairs and lifts from Valencia Street and Armstrong Road
  • better connectivity to local facilities and across the rail line
  • a new station building to include real-time display screens, new wayfinding signage and hearing loops
  • improved safety by increasing visibility to the train station concourse and platforms and providing additional lighting and CCTV
  • raised platforms to allow level access to trains
  • better walking and cycling connections to the station and a secure bicycle enclosure
  • platform widening and tactile ground surface indicators on platforms
  • a new park ‘n’ ride with access from Valencia Street
  • second island platform and provision for future track, enabling the delivery of the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project.

Progress and What’s Next
The team continues to progress construction activities focussing on delivering the new station building, the second platform and works to complete the pedestrian footbridge.
Once complete, the new Loganlea Station will provide improved accessibility, enhanced passenger amenity and stronger connections to surrounding education, health and community facilities, ensuring the station can meet the needs of the growing region for decades to come.
