Project Information
Degnan has been engaged to remove and upgrade the escalators at Wynyard Station to provide commuters with safer and more efficient access to the station.
Since the opening of Barangaroo, Wynyard Station has seen a remarkable increase in pedestrian traffic, with as many as 150,000 people per day which has brought about the need to upgrade the escalators. Located directly below Transport House, the four escalators connecting the station concourse with York Street (underneath Transport House) and Carrington Street (under Wynyard Park) will be removed and upgraded.
Wynyard Station is now considered to be Sydney’s third busiest station and the main gateway to Barangaroo and Sydney’s financial district.
