Experienced Estimator

Degnan is shaping Australia’s transport, energy, water and waste infrastructure, with offices in NSW, Queensland and Victoria. We’re seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Queensland team and help deliver successful bids and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit tenders, budget proposals and bills of quantities in line with Australian Standards
- Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotes to determine best-value options
- Produce cost estimates using first principles and software such as Cubit, Buildsoft or Bartender
- Visit sites to assess conditions, project methodology and construction practices
- Present tender reviews to directors, support post-tender scope changes, and contribute to continuous improvement
- Review past project performance and participate in pricing debriefs
We are looking for someone who has:
- 5+ years’ estimating experience in the infrastructure industry (rail preferred)
- A Degree in engineering, construction management or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team
