Broken Hill Courthouse

PROJECT INFORMATION

Degnan were engaged by the Department of the Attorney General and Justice to demolish an existing condemned building that was constructed in the late 1800’s and in its place construct a prisoner handling facility. The facility included four cells, two interview rooms and monitoring areas.

The cell block, which took 16 weeks to complete, was fitted out with vandal proof ceilings and constructed of core filled blocks to make it a secure area for offenders in remand to be housed prior to their court appearance.

Specialist trades were required for the cell frontages along with the complex security system that was installed.
